Check out “Ginal Dub (feat. Collie Buddz)” from Reggae star Alborosie – the new dubwise version on a new digital single November 5th.

Recent single from the album For The Culture, the combination tune “Ginal” picks up on the Jamaican slang term to describe a trickster.  Armed with cutting and humorous lyrics about people who talk too much (‘mouth a massi’), who will “smile inna yuh face an’ wah take yuh place.”  To this reality, Alborosie sings “chattings run road like a taxi / glued to my word like epoxy / no carry news / laba laba / me ah no foxy….”

The collaboration between Alborosie and Collie Buddz was born out of a mutual respect between the artiste / producers witnessed by the Alborosie single “See You Again” on the CaliRoots Riddim (produced by Collie Buddz).  Collie Buddz has stated that his first time listening to “Ginal” he could “feel it.”  The Bermudian reggae artist first appeared on the music scene in 2007, with several chart-topping hits including “Come Around,” “She Gimme Love,” and “Blind To You” to his credit.  The single “Ginal Dub” is accompanied by the live action video, conceived by Alborosie and filmed in Italy and Jamaica.

“Ginal (feat. Collie Buddz)” is the latest focus track from ‘For The Culture,’ 14 new songs written, produced, and performed by Alborosie.  Guest performers on the album are Collie Buddz, Jo Mersa Marley (“Ready”), Quino of Big Mountain (“Where Do You Go”) and Wailing Souls (“Life To Live”).  The release is accompanied by multiple music videos for the focus tracks and singles with a series of visualizers dubbed ‘Visual-i-Jahs,’ conceived and directed by Alborosie and long-time creative partner Tony Fisher, to support the release of the album.
Alborosie’s passion for dub is seen in Alborosie Dub Station, the audio effects plug-in collaboration with gear maker Audiothing.  Check Alborosie performing live dub sessions utilizing the device, under the moniker ‘Dub Mechanic’ on his Pupaalbo YouTube channel.

The global release date for “Ginal Dub” is November 5th, 2021
