After a discussion on what I wanted to say in my Weekly Thought on my radio show this week, my producer Catherine Atkinson wrote these words for me to consider and they’ve been on my mind…

“Look at your life like it is a pile of good things and bad things. Achieving your goals, whether they’re big or small, will always require the right mindset. Having a positive attitude can inspire you to keep going, or to work harder. Richard Curtis once wrote, “The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant.” When we focus on our pile of good things, a positive attitude comes much more easily.

You can also use this technique when thinking about yourself. We are all made up of countless characteristics – some bad and some good. Have a go at focussing on your pile of good characteristics, and let self-love flourish.”

I’ve been talking about this a lot over the last few weeks, because it is a key part to reaching goals. When we focus on the good things, more good things will come.
