Barbadian music sensation Rihanna celebrated her 24th birthday on the 20th February in London. A host of stars and fans sent birthday messages to the pop princess as she prepares to perform at the Brit Awards tonight, including ex Chris Brown who tweeted: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN,” alluding to the stars real name Robyn Fenty.
The star also marked the day by releasing new music, including a remix with her Chris Brown, she tweeted: “@chrisbrown Turn up the music remix #RihannaNavy #Teambreezyenjoy!!! vimeo.com/mechanicaldumm…,” unveiling new content, which was no doubt well received by her almost 14 million Twitter followers.
Dancehall acts also sent a special shout out to the RiRi with exclusive dubplate specials. The 20 minute mix from Federation sounds Max Glazer (who often DJ’s for Rihanna at private functions) features artists such as Popcaan, Mavado, Beenie Man and Serani, who gave their hit tracks a Rihanna makeover. Popcaan who recorded dubplates of the tracks ‘Ravin’ and ‘Party Shot’ states: “Rihanna your party shot like one M-16, Rihanna ah di Ravin Queen” before also stating “Yuh know seh its Popcaan an’ me represent for Rihanna, an mi seh happy birthday, have a special day baby…from di Gaza!”
