Black power couple Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter and R&B Songstress Beyonce Knowles have had their first child! The baby girl, who is reported to have been born this evening via c-section. In trademark Beyonce style the birth has been shrouded in speculation and extravagance, with the child’s name already being changed from Ivy Blue Carter to Blue Ivy Carter. Reports are stating that Bey and Jay hired out the entire 4th floor of the hospital Blue was born in for a cool $1.3 million.
The internet, in particular social networks have unsurprisingly been going wild about the topic, with a mock Twitter account @IvyBlueCarter which amusingly took on the voice of the newborn amassing in excess of 20,000 followers in a few hours. The account was hurriedly shut down but Tweeter’s have continued to banter about the subject.
Stars and fans alike have sent messages of congratulations and support to the couple on their first child, Bajan (Barbadian) songstress Rihanna tweeted: ‘Welcome to the world princess Carter. Love Aunt Rih.”
