Float On

Date:

Originally popularised in the 1960s and ’70’s, and now making a comeback, sensory deprivation is thought to promote mental clarity, reenergise the mind and speed workout recovery.

Flotation tanks are dark, soundproof pods in which people float in warm water for hours at a time. You float on salt water in a tank avoid of sound, light, or stimulation.

The feeling is described as “indescribable – you’ll never feel anything like it – you’re in a drowsy, trance-like state.”

But you must have an open mind and try to relax.
