Home African Caribbean Successful KUWTJ heads to Leeds tomorrow

Caribbean news. Yorkshire is about to host the film that was the first Caribbean cinema premiere in Britain for 2014 and the first Barbadian feature film ever to screen in an official UK cinema.

“Keeping Up With Joneses: The Movie” is a comedy-thriller based on the popular TV series of the same name.

The screening in Leeds will be followed by a Q&A discussion about the lack of Caribbean visibility on Britain’s TV and cinema screens – even after 60 years of the British-Caribbean community being in the UK!

The Q&A expert panel for the discussion is expected to include Leeds Carnival Committee, Leeds Young Authors, Leeds University African & Caribbean Society, Leeds Barbadian Assn. and Leeds Black Film Club.
