February 2016 New: “I Have a Song” by multi Grammy Award nominated artist, Eric Roberson, has been chosen by Nubian Jak to be the poignant and evocative call to remember Commonwealth service personnel from Africa and the Caribbean, who fought alongside Britain and the allied forces in WWI and WWII.

The Single will be available on general release from Friday 26th February 2016 (see itunes, Spotify, and main digital vendors) – with the official (by invitation only) launch and press conference – hosted by the House of Lords at the Palace of Westminster – Houses of Parliament.
The track was produced by Nubian Jak’s Memorial Aid Project, and features a host of artists from the world of Reggae, Hip Hop, Afro Beat and World Music. Proceeds from this historic single will enable the permanent installation of the first dedicated Commonwealth War Memorial in the UK to African and Caribbean service men and women of both World Wars.
The Memorial Aid Project is managed by a team of talented artists, academics, and cultural heritage campaigners, for which former recording artist and Nubian Jak pioneer, Jak Beula, is the spoke person – “It’s great that this song has brought people together from different parts of the Diaspora and musical experiences, to create a musical show of cultural unity for a good cause.”
R ‘n’ B sensation, Eric Roberson, added his vocals to the track in London last year; he said “I would be honoured if you remade I Have A Song…The song means a lot to my family and I, so we are all delighted in how this song continues to help others.”
The installation date for the African and Caribbean Commonwealth War Memorial is Wednesday 22nd June 2016 on National Windrush Day. We are looking for as many people as possible to be involved in helping us reach our goal of erecting the very first War Memorial of its kind in Europe.
